Ireland

Well, we made it to Dublin this morning about 9:30 and after much to do with the rent car we made it to the Hilton where Mike/Peggy met us with Texas sized hugs and smiles!!  We regrouped, bought an all day bus pass and headed into the heart of Dublin. Not too impressed as it is a sea of humanity!! Great people watching and we did go to Trinity College where we perused the Book of Kells and the impressive Long room that holds literally thousands of very old books. Peggy and I being the library/book lovers were in heaven. Will include a couple of pics.

Walked to Christ Church and just enjoyed it from the outside. Walked over to St. Patrick's Cathedral..WOW! Another beautiful building in which to honor God. Not sure how many cathedrals/castles one can see before they become old-hat but we aren't there yet!!

Made our way back to the us stop where we sat with Frank (a Dublinite!) and he told us all about the game of Hurling of which he'd just returned from a tournament that his team won after a 53 year winning drought. He was pumped! Actually watching a recap of it on the TV while enjoying beautiful Irish music in the restaurant here at the Hilton. What fun to learn about a new sport.  It is so much fun to chat with folks who live here. Speaking of, met two lovely ladies here at the Hilton in the ladies room that told me all the out of the way places to visit while we are in Galway and Killarney Town the next 3 days. Roy is currently enjoying a pint of Guinness while listening to music...he is loving this..do you detect a bit of a jig in my typing??!

Mike/Peggy have called "calf-rope"! The jet lag finally won...they went on up to bed. So fun to have them with us for this part of the trip. Till tomorrow or whenever I catch wi-fi....carry on and know you all are loved.
